Does sheer data excite you? Left-brainers dig scientific facts and statistics. The other camp may find these things quite boring. But thanks to Quill Engage, it doesn’t matter; whether you’re a left- or right-brained; you’ll appreciate Google Analytics (GA) reporting in a narrative way. What’s more, it’s free.
If you want to try the app, make sure you have already configured your GA account and integrated it on the website to monitor the web traffic and statistics; otherwise you need to create an account first and set up the necessary tools to make your GA reporting easier.
Note: if you don’t have a Google Analytics account, here’s a quick tutorial on how to create and embed the code on the WordPress website (assuming the reader has a self-hosted site).
How to Integrate Quill Engage to Google Analytics
Go to Quill Engage and sign up for a new account.
Signing up for an account requires you to authorize Quill Engage to link your GA account.
Quill Engage will start crunching your data and direct you to its dashboard. You can use up to ten profiles or domains for the narrative report.
You may also add other addresses to the subscription report (useful if you’re working with a team).
Here’s a sample of a real-time Quill Engage report (website: anonymous)
4 Key Features of Quill Engage
Simplified narrative report – There is no need to crunch the numbers when it comes to a GA report. When you integrate Quill Engage to your account, it simplifies the reporting in a narrative and comparative approach based on the current and previous sessions and site’s performance.
Supports up to ten subscribers/team members – It would be ideal if the core group on your team (e.g. writers, editors, marketing staff, social media managers, etc.) know the current site’s performance in order to improve content and social media strategies. With Quill Engage, you can add up to ten subscribers, and the report will be sent to them via email.
Weekly and monthly digests – This tool allows you to send weekly and monthly reports. An archive of reports is available on the dashboard, and if you’re logged-in you can download them in .DOC format. The weekly or monthly report is also attached as .DOC when you receive it by email.
Paid search analysis – If you take a look at the report, there’s a paragraph called “Paid Search” that discusses the current status of Ads, including the total cost per click, how much you spend on ads, and the percentage of increase/decrease. However, you need to set up your account to maximise this feature.
What do you think?
The Quill Engage now supports Twitter — this feature provides subscribers insights on how to engage with your followers. One of the key features that caught my attention is the ease of receiving weekly and monthly reports sent directly to my email address. If you don’t want to stare at your GA dashboard trying to crunch the statistics and graphs, Quill Engage simplifies the analysis and narrates it objectively. And just like any freemium platforms, the advanced features are available on the paid subscription. It’s a noteworthy tool for beginners and intermediates on SEO.
Let me know what you think of this platform. What app do you use with Google Analytics?
