We purchased the Travelpro Crew Executive Choice 2 Wheeled Brief so our expert reviewer could thoroughly test and assess it. Keep reading for our full product review.
The Travelpro Crew Executive Choice 2 bag has a premium look to it, just as its name suggests. A rectangular bag with a panoply of low-profile pockets in varying shapes and sizes—and with tech features like a built-in USB charging port—this bag provides everything you need to do business on the go.
While it is a bit of a splurge, the Crew Executive Choice 2 wheeled bag delivers utility, durability, and innovative technology, which makes us think it’s an option serious business travelers should consider.
Design: Premium materials and high-tech features
There is a place for every gadget and knickknack in the Travelpro Crew Executive Choice 2. In the main compartment, you’ll find a relatively large storage space that can easily fit a change of clothes, a spare pair of shoes, and a toiletry bag if you were to take a full day or overnight trip. In that same compartment, there is a quilted corduroy pouch that holds up to a 15-inch laptop.
A second, smaller compartment has slots to organize paperwork and another padded pouch for a tablet. A third compartment in the front of the bag contains organization for smaller items such as pens, notepads, paperclips and more. On the right side pocket, there’s a slot for a hidden name tag.
This bag provides everything you need to do business on the go.
One of our favorite features was the external USB charging port, which you can connect to your own external battery tucked into a small zippered pocket. This gives you all the convenience and accessibility of a charging port on the outside of the bag. Plus, it lets you choose a battery pack that meets your needs and the regulations of whatever airlines you use.
We also liked the RFID-blocking pocket, which helps shield credit cards and passports against identity theft.
The wheeled brief fits in the overhead bin on most major airlines, and the premium quality ballistic nylon material with DuraGuard coating makes the bag both highly durable and stain-resistant.

Comfort: Bulky but pretty easy to tote around
At over seven pounds, the Travelpro Crew Executive Choice is one of the heavier brief bags you’ll find. This makes it almost if not totally impossible to fit it under an airplane seat and really difficult to lift into an overhead bin when it’s full.
The carrying handle and in-line wheels make it easy to role any which way, but we think a couple of sets of 360-degree wheels would improve the design and comfort for brief bag carriers.
At over seven pounds, it’s one of the heavier brief bags you’ll find.
The telescoping handle can also be fussy to adjust sometimes, and although it is adjustable (up to approximately 42 inches from the bottom of the bag), we think the maximum handle height may be inadequate for buyers over six feet tall.
Price: Steep, but offers good value
The Travelpro Crew Executive Choice 2 can usually be found priced between $150 and $250 online, which definitely makes it one of the fancier bags on the market.
The Executive Choice 2 exceeds many other bags as far as features—the USB port is an especially unique addition—but those upgrades are reflected in the price. If you can find it for closer to that $150 price point, then the value only increases.
Competition: Fewer features, but also lower price tags
The rolling laptop cases from Solo Bryant and Perry Ellis are the main rivals—if you can even call them rivals—to the Travelpro Crew Executive Choice bag. They’re the same style of bag and have a special laptop sleeve inside, but they reflect significantly different prices and feature sets.
The Solo Bryant and Perry Ellis pale in comparison when it comes to features. The Solo Bryant bag doesn’t even have lockable zippers, and you miss out on the USB port and RFID-blocking on both. But if the price is your main concern, these pared-down bags offer much more reasonable price tags around the $70 mark.
