Greavard is known to be one of the friendliest creatures in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. It is an adorable looking ‘Ghost Dog Pokemon’ which evolves into Houndstone. But its evolved form is far from cute as it gets sharp claws and a tombstone on its head rather than a sweet candle. To have either of these dogs in your team, you need to ensure you have the right Natures in place to make them competitive in battles. Here are the best Natures for Greavard and Houndstone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

The Best Natures for Greavard and Houndstone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

  • Impish (boosts Defense but decreases Special Attack)
  • Adamant (boosts Attack but decreases Special Attack)

The best stats that these ghostly dogs can brag about is their super strong Attack and Defense. Greavard’s evolved form – Houndstone has a base attack stat of a decent 101. It has similar base defensive numbers touching a perfect 100! Hence, we recommend using Impish or Adamant Natures since they complement the Ghost Dog Pokemon’s strengths. However, the downside of using these Natures in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is a nerfed Special Attack. But you need not fret a lot about this since the bulk of their offense relies on Physical attacks rather than the Special ones. However, we have other options for you as well.

For trainers who wouldn’t like to sacrifice on their Special Attack, here are the other options:

  • Brave (boosts Attack but decreases Speed)
  • Relaxed (boosts Defense but decreases Speed)

Both these Pokemon are known to be slow. Even Houndstone has a base Speed of only 68! Hence, if you’d like to hold on to your Special Attack while also boosting either your ghost dog’s Defense or Attack, choose one of these Natures. Brave and Relaxed might nerf your Speed but you can afford to do that because the dogs don’t excel in it anyway.

That sums up this guide. We hope we helped you choose the right Natures for Greavard and Houndstone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. If we did, don’t forget to check out our Pokemon SV page for similar content.
