This week on tech was a busy week for Microsoft, as Windows 10 build 10162 was released to the Slow ring of updates, three days later Windows 10 build 10166 rolled to the Fast ring of updates with various minor updates and with the “Microsoft Wi-Fi” app. Now with the latest update, the operating system feels faster and polished than never before, as the company has been squashing bugs left and right to get Windows 10 ready for July 29th.

In addition, we heard that Windows 10 was being finalized this week, but now it seems that it won’t happen until sometime next week.

Continuing with more releases, the software giant this week rolled out Windows 10 Mobile 10149 to the Slow ring of updates. Two days later screenshots of build 10162 for mobile devices emerged on the internet, and only a day later Microsoft shipped Windows 10 Mobile build 10166 to the Fast ring of updates with improvements to the core quality. The company also said that it has fixes most of known issues found in build 10149.

Xbox Music now has been renamed to Groove, and according to the company, Groove is a more appropriate name that describes what people do with music. Other than the name, everything else will remain the same.

The Xbox Music app for Android and iOS received a new update to enable free music steaming from songs stored on OneDrive.

Xbox One received the July update, which prepares the console for Windows 10 game streaming using the Xbox app, and prepares the console for backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games.

If you want to get great deals on Xbox games, you shouldn’t miss the “Xbox Ultimate Game Sale” and “Deals with Gold” which will be available until July 13th.

Office 2016 for Mac OS X releases for Office 365 members, and the company says that will have a standalone version of the suite in September.

Mac users can now download free the beta version of the next version of Mac OS X “El Capitan”, but like with every pre-release of a software, El Capitan isn’t finished and it’s only meant for savvy testers.

With only weeks away from the launch of Windows 10, the Microsoft marketing department seems to have already chosen the official retail box that will ship the DVD of containing the installation files for the operating system.
