This week on tech, we had a closer look to the consumer features Microsoft is readying for Windows 10, thanks to the leaked version of the operating system. We had our hands on Cortana running on the desktop, Settings app, and we learned how to install Windows 10 build 9901 on a virtual machine. Additionally, I published a video detailing all the new features and changes of the leaked version of Windows 10.
Also this week Microsoft published a new post detailing why Windows Insiders didn’t get a new build on December, talked about the Windows 10 numbers, and promised the January Technical Preview will be worth the wait.
Office Sway became available for everyone without the need of an invitation. Gestures Beta app for Lumia Windows Phones released making a lot easier to interact with phone calls without touching the screen. Microsoft published the Xim app to let users share photos temporarily with friends, but also allowing users to show those images to a Chromecast, Apple TV, and Xbox One. Xbox One gets five new apps, including Pandora, Vevo, Bravo, Telemundo, and Popcornflix.
Microsoft is reportedly working on a new project codenamed “Arcadia” to stream apps and games to Windows (PC, tablet, and phone) from the cloud. A video showed us the first Microsoft Band teardown to see what is inside the fitness band.
Lumia Windows Phones around the world begun to receive the latest Denim update and the company published a video on how to install the update properly. New rumor suggest Microsoft is working to integrate OneDrive and Xbox Music to allow users to stream music store in OneDrive using the Xbox Music.
