Happy New Year everyone and best wishes for 2016! This week on tech didn’t have major announcements, but a few things happened. For starters, Microsoft revealed its second week of the Xbox Countdown sale with a great list of discounted games for Xbox One and Xbox 360 – deals that will be available until January 7.

In addition, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners can now begin downloading their January free games through the Games with Gold program. Currently Xbox Live Gold members can download Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition on Xbox One and DiRT Showdown on Xbox 360.

Also, on related news, a new rumor surfaced recently on Microsoft plans to build a new slimmer version of its Xbox One to compete with the Apple TV.
