This week on Pureinfotech, Microsoft released Windows 10 build 14251 to the Fast ring of updates. This is the fourth preview part of the Redstone update that the company is making available to Insiders. In this new prerelease, users will notice a big jump on the build number from “11102” to “14251”, but there are not new changes, Microsoft is jumping the number up because it will begin matching the mobile and desktop version number of Windows 10 in future releases.
While build 14251 is not including any new features, the company is fixing a lot of bugs, but it’s also warning users of a few known issues users should be aware of before installing this flight.
The software maker has also rolled out a new cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1511 (non-Insider), but Microsoft isn’t sharing any specific details on the new changes.
Continuing with more updates, Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 are receiving new firmware updates to address battery charging issues and wireless adapter, but unfortunately, the firmware rolling on January still not fixing the battery drain problem on both devices.
Early this week, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 Mobile devices enrolled to receive previews of the operating system will soon be able to install new firmware updates. Something that previously required users to roll back their phones to the production version of the mobile version of Windows 10. However, until that happens the company is offering a workaround to install new firmware updates right now.
As February is fast approaching, Microsoft has already revealed the new set of game titles Xbox Live members will be getting as part of the Games with Gold program, and the company unveils that Xbox One will get a new update on February with party chat, Gamerscore leaderboard, dashboard, and Xbox (Beta) app for Windows 10 improvements.
This week I added another Windows 10 guide to walk you through the different methods you can use to get access to the Advanced startup settings in the operating system when you need to troubleshoot or just change some of the more advanced settings on your PC.
