This week on tech, Microsoft introduces Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, and details availability, technical specifications, pricing, and eight new accessories including the Touch Cover 2, Power Cover, Docking Station, and Surface Music Kit. This week we also discussed about big differences between the two new Microsoft tablets and why you should just buy a Surface Pro 2 instead.

The software giant also unveiled its plans to combine the Windows Store and the Windows Phone Store into one global store for all the apps. And there are also talks about making all the apps cross platform (phone, tablet, and desktop).

VideoLAN, the popular free video player known to play virtually any video file, released version 2.1, but what’s really interesting about this new version is that the software now supports 4K resolution in Windows and Mac OS X.

Microsoft revealed that is working on the first Windows 8-style version of Office, but don’t get too excited, this is just a new extension and not full version of suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). This new tool is called “Office Reader” and it aims to be a content consumption application.

Finally, the software giant announced that it is increasing the number of devices you can install Windows 8 apps from 5 to 81 devices, coming soon… All this and more…
