This week on tech, Microsoft join forces with Dropbox to bring Office integration. On a surprise announcement, Microsoft makes Office completely free for iPad, iPhone, and Android tablet. And the software giant officially confirms that Office touch-optimized for Windows 10 is coming, but not until the next version of the operating system ships.
On Windows 10, Microsoft talks about management features coming to the operating system and we now know that Windows will natively play MKV and HEVC (H.265) file formats.
New leaked screenshots of Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9879 show that the company is adding options to hide the virtual desktops (Task View) and Search buttons from the taskbar. This week I also showed you how to get new Windows 10 preview faster than other Windows Insiders.
Also if you ever wanted to run Internet Explorer on iOS and Android, well… Now you can with RemoteIE, which is a new cloud service from Microsoft that allows to stream IE to any mobile device. Of course, this service is aimed to developers to test their products with the web browser, but anyone is welcome to try it.
Recent Patch Tuesday included an Internet Explorer 11 update that adds a new Bing search box to new taps, if you don’t like this feature, this week I published a How-To guide to remove the search box and keep using New Tab like the old times.
On Xbox One, Microsoft summarizes all the features released in 2014 for the game console — Over 100 changes –. Best Buy offers new trade-in program that reduces the price of Xbox One to $200.
