Microsoft is planning to release the next version of its clamshell laptop, the Surface Laptop 4, and ahead of the official announcement, some details have leaked onto the web, revealing the device tech specs and potential launch date. According to a report from WinFutuere, the company plans to launch the Surface Laptop 4 sometime in April 2021, and it will come with both AMD and Intel options.

On the AMD configuration side, the fourth-generation of the laptop is expected to ship with the Ryzen 4000 mobile series, including the 5 4680U and 7 4980U processors, instead of the 5000 series. On the other hand, the Intel variants are expected to come with the latest 11th-Gen Core processors, including the Core 15-1145G7 and the Core i7-1185G7.

As for the design and other components, everything seems that will stay similar to the previous version. For instance, there will be 13.5 and 15-inch models, and the exterior design will remain identical to the Laptop 3, including the 3:2 aspect ratio and resolution.

However, there will be some changes in memory and storage. For instance, the Surface Laptop 4 will come with up to 32GB of memory, but you will need to get the Intel model. Otherwise, 16GB will be the maximum memory if you choose the AMD model. Also, the storage will only go up to 512GB on AMD, while in the Intel model, you will be able to choose up to 1TB of internal storage.
